A clean bong bowl ensures a cleaner smoke, so here's how to clean a bong bowl.

Step 1. Gather Cleaning Materials

Before you begin, make sure you have all the necessary materials isopropyl alcohol, coarse salt, cleaning brush, Ziploc bag, paper towels or absorbent cloths, and multiple Ziploc bags if necessary.

Step 2. Initial Rinse

Carefully disassemble the bong bowl and rinse the mouthpiece with hot water to remove any loose dirt or debris. This will make subsequent cleaning steps more effective.

Step 3. Prepare Cleaning Solution

Place the bowl in a Ziploc bag and introduce an appropriate amount of coarse salt into the Ziploc bag containing the bowl along with enough isopropyl alcohol to cover the coarse salt. If you are washing more than one bowl of smoke together, you will need to place the bowls in separate ziplock bags. The salt acts as an abrasive to help scrub away stuck-on residue, while the alcohol dissolves grease and grime.

Step 4. Soak and Shake

Seal the ziplock bag, soak for a few minutes and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds. The mixture will scrub the inside and outside of the glass tobacco bowl. Repeat the soaking and shaking process several times, if necessary, until the bowl looks clean. You can also use a cleaning brush to scrub stubborn stains or residue.

Step 5. Rinse with hot water

Once the water bong bowl is clean, rinse it thoroughly with hot water to remove all traces of the salt and alcohol mixture. Make sure to remove all residue to avoid any unwanted tastes or odours during use.

Step 6. Dry thoroughly

Dry the bong bowl piece completely with a paper towel or absorbent cloth. Ensure that it is thoroughly dry before refitting it to the pipe to prevent moisture from affecting the smoke.

Follow these steps and you'll have a pipe tobacco bowl that's as clean as new. To be able to enjoy a purer, fresher smoke and to extend the life of your glass bong and accessories, be sure to clean them regularly.
